It has been used for many years in patients with bladder and throat cancers, and for facial and dental prosthetic implants. Radiesse™ requires no allergy testing and remains soft in tissue.
Radiesse is considered a longer-lasting filler and a single syringe can last up to 6-9 months. When additional Radiesse is administered at about 8 weeks, it can last up to 1-2 years. As it is reabsorbed, patients come in for touch ups as needed. This procedure requires only a numbing cream and takes about 45 minutes. The best areas to treat include the "laugh lines" and the lines from the mouth to the jaw called the "marionette lines".
