What is Botox?
Botox Cosmetic is a purified protein that is injected into muscles to calm the look of wrinkles in the face.
Botox is most widely used between the brows to treat “mean face” or the Scowl, or the “elevens”. Botox is injected with tiny needles right into the muscle. After about ten days, the Botox Cosmetic will be working completely.
Side effects to Botox injections include bruising and swelling. Extremely rare complications include an eyelid that droops for 2-3 weeks.
After a few days, the muscles relax, and you can no longer make the mean face, and people around you will notice!
Botox is also used to improve the following wrinkles in the face:
- Crows Feet
- Nasal wrinkles or Bunny Lines
- Lip Lines or Smokers Lines
- Forehead Lines
- Vertical Cords in the Neck
The average cost for Botox between the brows is $200-$250 for a female patient.
How long should Botox last?
3-4 months is average if the right does is used.
